8 Ghanaian Artists Who Have Dropped Projects This Year

This year has been an awesome year for music despite the pandemic. In this article, we give you a list of all the Ghanaian artists who have released music projects we have loved this year. Check them out below!

Stonebwoy – Anloga Junction

On the 24th of April 2020 Ghanaian singer and songwriter Stonebwoy released his latest album titled ‘Anloga Junction’. The album is the award winning reggae and dancehall singer’s 4th studio album, and it hit the ground running as soon as it was released, hitting several milestones. First, the project hit a total of 100,000+ streams on Boomplay within just 24 hours. Next, the album recorded a total of 500,000 streams, in about a week after its release. After that, the album recorded one million streams in less than a month, making ‘Anloga Junction’ the fastest project to attain one million streams on Boomplay Ghana, ever. Featured on the album are American singer Keri Hilson, South African rapper Nasty C, Jamaican-born Alicai Harley, Nigerian rapper Zlatan, Diamond Platnumz, Jahmiel, and more.

Kuami Eugene – Son of Africa

Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and recording artist Kuami Eugene, also known as the ‘Rockstar’ finally released his highly anticipated sophomore album. The album is titled ‘Son Of Africa’. The brand new album by the Lynx Entertainment singer which houses 14 songs features A-list artists from all over Africa, such as Eddy Kenzo, Falz, Zlatan, Samini, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Prince Bright, Obaapa Christy and DJ Mensah. Behind the production boards on the album we have Richie Mensah, MOG, Hylander, Willisbeatz, and Kuami Eugene himself.

Gyakie – Seed

Singer Gyakie released her debut EP, SEED. Revealing herself as the daughter of the Ghanaian Highlife music legend, Nana Achaempong through the cover art for SEED, sets her tone for the EP: a young girl influenced by music from legendary talents in Ghana’s history through her Dad and his musical friends. While that comes off as intriguing, she’s also burdened with the thoughts of conforming to what is expected of her as her father’s ‘seed’ as well as deciding on choosing her own path and maintaining her integrity. The Seed EP is a journey that explores diverse genres as a reflection of Gyakie’s musical quest of finding and staying true to herself.



KiDi – Blue

Ghanaian star singer Dennis Nana Dwamena, popularly known as KiDi dropped a brand new EP, simply titled ‘Blue’. ‘Blue’ is a 5-track EP of brand new material from the afrobeats and highlife act. On ‘Blue’, the Lynx Entertainment star exhibits the best of his talent, in terms of his creative ability. Whether it be the songwriting or the sound direction, KiDi has expressed the newly stretched limits of his creativity, showing that he isn’t just a hit factory. ‘Blue’ is intentional, a short but sweet selection of songs to help you get through the times.

Questo – Ananse

Ghanaian rapper Questo presented his debut EP, titled “Ananse”. It’s a seven-track offering from the rapper on the come up, and he definitely brought the fire! “Daze” was the preceding single to the project, and it’s the perfect hip-hop fix, for the rap fans. Don’t sleep on this one!

BRYAN THE MENSAH – NOT GOING OUTSIDE

This year Ghanaian rapper BRYAN THE MENSAH also blessed us with a project. He dropped an EP titled “Not Going Outside”, which was his 4th body of work. The project featured Ko-Jo Cue, Romeo Swag, Bully and Bills Brown, with a total of 7 tracks on the project. The project acquired over 200,00 streams in just two weeks of its release, and it contained buzzing tracks like “Walls” and “Seeing Is Believing”.

Edem  – Mood Swings

This year, versatile Ghanaian rapper, singer, and songwriter Edem dropped his much-anticipated EP “Mood Swings”. To Edem, the 6-track EP would allow the world to see him through the various musical lenses as an artist. He is also hopeful that each song will be heard and appreciated for what it is and what it means to him. Edem commented on the project, saying: “It is all the colors that come together for you to see the rainbow, and the rainbow is the representation of the brighter side of life. The synergy is in all the moods coming together. Adina – Araba

Ghanaian singer and songwriter Adina Thembi Ndamse better known by her stage name Adina is set to released her first studio album on the 30th of October 2020.  The album was simply titled “Araba”. The two-time VGMA female vocalist of the year shared sounds on the album with industry players and colleagues at a private listening session that weekend. The songs on “Araba” were produced by Richie Mensah, KiDi, DJ Vyrusky, and Clifford Machingafa with Mark Mantey playing the role as the instrumentalist.
