Watch Amaarae perform”Leave Me Alone” at Colors Show

There’s no denying that Ghanian-American artist Amaarae (real name Ama Serwah Genfi) has one of the most distinct and sweet voices around. Since debuting with ‘Passionfruit Summers’ back in 2017, the multifaceted artist has gone on to showcase her bright and refreshing sounds to become a shining light on West Africa’s bubbling alté scene. This year, Amaarae dropped ‘THE ANGEL YOU DON’T KNOW’, another striking project which features COLORS alumnus Kojey Radical as well as contributions from Cruel Santino, Moliy, Princess Adjua, Maesu, CKay and more. 

Dropping by the COLORS stage, Amaarae shares a special stripped back performance of the standout lead single ‘LEAVE ME ALONE’. Replacing the sweat-inducing club beat with gentle electric guitar chords, Amaarae allows her mango-sweet vocals to work their magic and create an entirely intimate and spatial atmosphere before closing out the performance by voicing her support for the EndSARS movement.
