1. Queen of Akra
The Queen of Akra series is a reimagined Ga legend about the life of the woman king Naa Dode Akaabi who ruled in the Ga lands – early 17th century. Retelling her life as a warrior whose rise to power is shown throughout – in this biopic. Written by David Nii Amarh Ammah and directed by William Kojo Abgeti – this film features big name actors like Adjetey Annan, Jasmine Baroudi and Melissa Nortey of DWP fame. The release of the trailer has seen much excitement towards the quality in cinematography and story line captured in the movie.
2. A country called Ghana
Set in the colonial times of Ghana, the film not only shows scenes from the past but improves the storyline with a comedic side many know the producer and starring actor Lilwin for. A country called Ghana will be playing as a two seasonal series – featuring notable Nigerian Actors Ramsey Nouah, Victor Osuagwu “Awilo”, and Charles Awurua. The yet to be premiered film follows a story of foreigners who find themselves in a town in Ghana. But are met with so many surprises throughout their journey. The release date is set for 5th and 6th May, 2024
3. Evor
The movie takes a rather sensitive path of domestic violence – emotional and physical abuse endured by a wife – Dela, (role played by the film writer Sitsofe Tsikor) in her marriage to Kojo. In the film, the couple is introduced as having a very loving relationship which later turns bitter for the victim who had to endure long years of suffering and the indifference of her community. Evor also highlights themes like murder, death and imprisonment. This daring drama invites its audience into the story asking an important question – can silence save you?

4. The Storm
The storm is a story of crime, corruption and mischief happening within the government. Inviting a police investigation that explains the involvement of politicians in the abduction and killing of children by a criminal syndicate in Ghana. The storm is an action packed drama – with plot twists and discoveries that will excite its audience. According to IMDb, the movie is in the post-production phase and expected to be released July 30, 2024

5. Tejiri: Lost in a brutal world
Tejiri is about a university student who goes missing – ending up in prison. Faced by a new harsh reality, the boy is left to tackle the violence he meets in this place. While, his family faced with desperation on the outside – hires a renowned detective in their search for the misplaced boy. The film highlights the difficult and unexpected outcomes of life. Resilience and truth in the face of adversity. Starring in this emotionally compelling movie, Tejiri are; Brian Angels, Kofi Adu-Gyamfi, Yvonne Maura Appiah, Bernard Kobina Acquah, Henry Agbai, Ziggy Netteyson.
6. Tripping
An adventure gone south is exactly what the YN production tripping is all about. In the movie, the lead character played by comedian Hogan, is faced with the difficulties of family fortune, causing him to seek excitement with his friends – abandoning his troubles. The trip however, takes an unexpected turn as the characters are met with mystery, uncertainties and a test of the bond between the friends.

7. Coming to Africa: Welcome to Ghana
This movie is a combination of romance, drama and comedy. Starring Nana Ama Mcbrown as Akosua (a divorcee) who has found love again with Adrian – an American. Her new love life is faced with disapproval by her family. Also introducing Buck, Adrian’s brother, who arrives in Ghana for business and meets trouble with a notorious gangster. Coming to Africa: Welcome to Ghana is action packed with drama and many twists in the love, family and travel plans of Akosua, the school teacher.
