Cook Turkey Combo Rice with less than GHC100

In our series to introduce you to budget-friendly meals, Turkey Combo Rice is next on our list. Follow the Ingredients and Preparation below and prepare this meal from the comfort of your room on campus or your home.

Ingredients

  • Rice
  • Turkey Thighs
  • Seasoning Cube
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Rosemary Onions
  • Garlic and Ginger
  • Carrot
  • Red and Green Bell Peppers
  • Onion Powder
  • Rosemary Onions

PREPARATION

  • Wash turkey thighs and cut into cubes
  • Coat evenly with seasoning cube, onion powder, garlic powder, and any other spice of your choice, and allow to marinate for about 30 minutes to an hour.
  • While waiting, blend onions, garlic, ginger, rosemary, habanero pepper, and red bell pepper to form a pepper mix (you may add any other veggies or spices of choice)
  • Steam turkey thigh bones in a pan with preferred seasoning. Take out bones and pour washed rice into the stock. Allow to cook for 15- 20 minutes or until it is soft to your preference.
  • Pan-fry your well-seasoned turkey cubes for about 10 minutes
  • In the same pan, add onions and rosemary and allow to simmer for 2 minutes
  • Add minced ginger and garlic to the pan
  • Add pepper mix, seasoning cube, and a pinch of salt to taste and allow to simmer for about 2 minutes
  • Pour cooked rice into the pan and stir until flavors are infused into the rice
  • Add turkey cubes and stir
  • Serve this spicy and mouthwatering rice dish with some cold juice loves.
