Every December, thousands from people from all over the world come to Ghana for the time of their lives and Ghana is always happy to welcome everyone. But since this might be your first time in the country, these are a few tips to have in mind if you love the Nightlife scene which is so exciting in Ghana.

1. Yes! Ghanaians party till the sun rises

If you plan on going to a night party starting at 8pm, chances are that the real party will start around 11am , and head straight into the early AM. Most likely pass 3am to 5am. You might see the sunrise and the DJ will leaving his booth but not to let you go home. to let the next DJ in. Ghanaians really mean business when they say Partying so be sure your phone is fully charged and you have the energy and definitely tell Mama not to call.

2. Yes! Uber Drivers prefer cash Payment

Ride Hailing apps like Uber and Bolt will get you wherever you want to go in the city but unlike in other countries, the Ghanaian drivers prefer cash payments over card payment. Don’t ask us why but just to avoid any awkward conversation, just carry enough cash to pay them and go straight to your partying. Ubers are expensive because of traffic in the city during December but local taxis can be helpful too, especially if you live far from the districts where most of the fun will be happening. They tend to have a fixed price base din your distance but you may need some bargaining skills.

3. Yes! E-Sims work in Ghana

The main telecommunication companies offer an E-sim cards for all types of phones. This will give you a local number and internet connection but with whatsapp, instagram and enough social media apps, you need a local number as much.

4. No! Not every party is open to everyone

Most clubs will be open but in some cases, they may be exclusively reserved and have private tables and private corners for a some high end spenders so before appearing at a party or club, kindly research and find out if it’s an open party or for the select few. It will save you from wasting transportation and time.

5. Yes! You will need more accessories

You’ve probably been told this already that Ghana is hot all year round. Consider being in a space full of 100’s of people screaming to song lyrics, everyone sweating. Thats when you will need your portable fan and a power bank as well. You should be able to buy this portable fan at the Airport of from any huge supermarket in Ghana.
